Lennon: 'Bolton win has been coming'

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon has admitted that he is relieved to get his first win of the season, but believes that the victory had been coming.

The 44-year-old's side took all three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon, thanks to a Liam Feeney strike and a Zach Clough penalty, both in the first half.

Bolton were put under pressure by Wolves in the second half, who scored a consolation goal through Benik Afobe, but the hosts held on to secure their first win since April 6.

Speaking to club reporters after the game, Lennon said: "That has been coming. It was tough after Wolves got the goal, but we could have put the game to bed on the counter.

"It took real bottle for Zach Clough to go up at a crucial stage of the game and stick the penalty away.

"You can't help but feel a bit of relief. We probably didn't play as well as we have at times this season, but we've won."

Bolton will take on Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening.
