Holden 'misses' playing football

Stuart Holden has expressed his desire to get back playing football as he continues to recover from a knee ligament injury.

The USA international suffered his third serious injury back in March while planning his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury.

The midfielder was on Bolton Wanderers' books at the time, but the Championship club opted against renewing Holden's contract in the summer.

Holden wrote on Twitter today: "Really missing playing the beautiful game today. I use that energy to fuel the fire and push to my GOAL! To my believers + supporters.. THX!"

Bolton offered to help Holden with his rehabilitation, despite releasing him in the summer.
