Dougie Freedman: 'We need stronger characters at Bolton Wanderers'

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman believes that some of his players 'have long-term' scars after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Bournemouth.

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has bemoaned his side's performance in today's 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth.

Lee Chung-Yong opened the scoring for the Trotters in the first half, before Lukas Jutkiewicz's long-range strike in the 32nd minute saw the hosts double their lead.

Lewis Grabban responded with a goal a few minutes later for the Cherries, and Simon Francis headed in the second for his side midway through the second half to secure Bournemouth a point.

Freedman told reporters after the game: "I think there are long-term scars at the football club with certain players here and I think we need to try and shake them off and move on.

"We need stronger characters. It's a setback but it's not the end of the world.

"In the second half Bournemouth were the better team and we rallied in the last 10 minutes and gave it a go. But I was disappointed because when you're two-nil up at home you should be holding onto that lead."

Bolton Wanderers occupy 19th place in the Championship and are five points above the relegation zone.
