Bolton boss Dougie Freedman is delighted with Stuart Holden's return from a serious knee injury.

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has praised Stuart Holden following the midfielder's recent comeback from serious injury.

The 27-year-old had played only one game for the Trotters since he suffered a knee problem during a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United in March 2011.

However, the American featured in a 3-0 win for Bolton's reserves over Oldham on Tuesday night.

"It was great to see him out there," Freedman told The Bolton News. "To get 65 minutes, we are very pleased, and a very good 65 minutes at that. I thought he was very influential in the game as well.

"Having been out for so long but to be involved in most of the match is very encouraging and also very pleasing for Stuart."

Bolton continue their Championship campaign on Saturday when they host Millwall at the Reebok Stadium.
