Darren Pratley named new Bolton Wanderers captain

Darren Pratley is named the new Bolton Wanderers captain following the departure of Matt Mills.

Neil Lennon has confirmed that Darren Pratley will wear the captain's armband for Bolton Wanderers in the 2015-15 campaign.

Bolton were left without a skipper after Matt Mills joined Nottingham Forest earlier this summer, and Lennon has responded by handing the responsibility to Pratley, who recently signed a new three-year deal with the club.

"Darren will be our captain this season," the Bolton boss told the club's official website. "I think he's the right age and he's well respected in the dressing room by the players.

"He's a consistent performer and he's coming into his peak years. I think he's ready for the responsibility."

Bolton continue their preparations for the new season with a trip to Morecambe on Friday.
