Blackpool 2-0 Everton

Blackpool were in fine form to beat Everton 2-0 in a friendly on Sunday.

Goals from Alex Baptiste and James Caton gave the Seasiders a morale-boosting win as they prepare for a promotion bid in the Championship this season.

Everton fielded a strong side, including new signings Steven Pienaar and Steven Naismith, but could not make the breakthrough at Bloomfield Road.

A powerful header from Baptiste and a measured finish four minutes from time by Caton gave Ian Holloway's men a deserved pre-season victory.
