Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is hoping that Matt Phillips will remain with the club beyond the end of the transfer window.
The 20-year-old scored one and created another as Blackpool defeated Middlesbrough 3-0 on Monday in front of 20 scouts from other clubs.
Holloway is bracing himself for a bid for his winger but believes that he should stay until the summer at least.
"Hopefully, no-one is going to come in and steal Matt like they did with Charlie Adam, because next summer God knows how much he will be worth," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "If it is a big enough club, he might have to go anyway because we are hardly the biggest club in the world.
"But forget about that. I am just very proud of what we are trying to do and that boy sums it up.
"He was unplayable at times and that was fantastic, I am delighted for him."
Phillips joined the Seasiders in 2010 from Wycombe Wanderers.
