Blackpool to 'appoint assistant manager' to help Barry Ferguson

Blackpool to 'bring in help' for Ferguson

Blackpool are in the process of looking for an experienced coach to help manager Barry Ferguson, according to a report.

The Seasiders, who were thrashed 4-0 by Watford on Saturday, are winless in 16 league matches.

Ferguson was handed the job on a caretaker basis following the sacking of Paul Ince in January, but has failed to drag the club away from the relegation zone.

Consequently, the club's hierarchy want to add another coach to Ferguson's backroom staff, The Mirror says.

However, the report adds that the former Rangers player could be against the idea.

Blackpool are 19th in the Championship table.
