Blackpool striker Tom Barkhuizen has said that he is a "good couple of weeks" away from a return to first-team action after seven weeks out injured.
The 20-year-old forward, who suffered a broken collarbone in January, returned to training on Tuesday.
"I'll need a good couple of weeks before I'm even ready to be considered for the main games," he told the club website.
"I just need to train this week, play a couple of friendly games and see where we go from there. I just need to impress the manager. If he thinks I'm ready and wants to put me back in after that then hopefully I can get back in."
Barkhuizen also revealed that interim manager Barry Ferguson was implementing the toughest training regime that he's ever had.
"It was tough, a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be," added Barkhuizen.
"Everything is high-intensity, probably the most since I've been a professional. It's great for the lads and hopefully we can take how well we're training into the games."
Blackpool are currently on a 16-match winless run and have plunged to 19th in the Championship.
