Blackburn prepare record bid for Senegal striker

Blackburn Rovers are thought to be preparing a club record-breaking bid for Papiss Cisse.

Steve Kean will launch a £12m offer for the Senegalese striker, currently playing for German club Freiburg.

Earlier this week Cisse was quoted as saying that he would welcome a move to England. “I am a big fan of the Premier League,” he said. “My friend, Demba Ba, has done well there. All players love the Premier League. One day I could be there, but there are also teams [in Germany] who want me, so you never know.”

The 26-year-old has scored 28 goals in 48 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg.
