Blackburn Rovers cruise past Bolton Wanderers

Blackburn Rovers beat Bolton Wanderers 4-1 at Ewood Park in the Championship.

Blackburn Rovers have beaten Bolton Wanderers 4-1 at Ewood Park in the Championship.

The hosts were comfortable throughout the game and could have won by an even bigger margin.

After a bright start, Blackburn took the lead midway through the first half. Josh King broke free on the left and found David Dunn, who skipped past two challenges and fired into the back of the net.

They doubled their lead moments later, with Dunn again involved. The midfielder found Jordan Rhodes on the edge of the box and the Scotland international turned his marker before curling the ball into the corner.

Bolton got themselves back in it just before the break. Jay Spearing picked up a rebound and found Alex Baptiste, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

The second half was quite even until 20 minutes from the end when Rovers made the points safe. Substitute Corry Evans smashed the ball in from the edge of the box, with the aid of a slight deflection after being found by Dunn.

The hosts thought that they had scored again minutes later, but the offside flag denied Rhodes his second goal of the day.

He was not denied for long, though, getting on the end of Todd Kane's cross and firing in to double his tally.

The home side continued to push forward but were unable to add to their score. It did not matter, though, as Rovers took all the points with a comfortable victory.
