Robinson doesn't regret England snub

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has insisted that he does not regret his decision to retire from international football with England.

The 32-year-old quit Three Lions duties in 2010 after becoming frustrated with a lack of opportunities.

Since then he has gone from strength to strength in a Rovers shirt and he believes that is partly due to his absence from the England fold.

"It has helped me as a person and as a player. I've been out of that for a while now and it has helped me enjoy my football," he said.

"I love playing my football here at Blackburn. I love being part of the team and the club's set-up and there is nothing to change at the moment.

"There's nothing else to worry about. That's the main reason I retired from international football."

Robinson was capped 41 times for his country between 2003 and 2010.
