Gary Bowyer: 'Be patient with new Blackburn Rovers players'

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer says that new signings Sacha Petshi and Bangaly-Fode Koita will take some time to adapt to the English game.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has told supporters to be patient with new signings Sacha Petshi and Bangaly-Fode Koita.

Rovers, who are under a transfer embargo for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations, made their first signings of the summer yesterday with the addition of the duo.

Bowyer said on the club website that Petshi would take a while to adapt to English football and hinted that Koita would be more likely to make his debut first.

"We've done ever so well to get Fode, because there were a couple of other clubs trying to get his signature, but once we got him to the training ground and had a meeting with him, he was impressed with what he saw and we've been able to conclude the deal," Bowyer said.

"We need to assess his fitness and see where he's at, and we'll put a programme in place to get him up to speed as quickly as we possibly can.

"He can play on either flank and down the middle. He's quick, he's aggressive, he's a powerful runner and he's got some good technique."

Blackburn finished ninth in the Championship last season and begin 2015-16 with a home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, August 8.
