Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett "flattered" to be linked with other clubs

Gary Rowett "flattered" by job speculation

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has admitted that he is "flattered" to be linked with managerial vacancies at other clubs.

Reports have suggested that Fulham and Queens Park Rangers are looking at the 41-year-old, who has turned the Blues from relegation candidates to playoff contenders during his first year in charge.

Rowett, though, has insisted that he remains completely focused on his work at St Andrew's.

"I'm aware of the speculation," Rowett told BBC WM. "But it's something that we've got to deal with.

"I'm flattered. The clubs I'm linked with are ambitious, who have been in the Premier League recently. But I don't think there's been any official approach. That's nothing to do with me. I'm here to do a job."

Rowett left Burton Albion to take charge of Birmingham in October 2014.
