Elche are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Spanish midfielder Joan Verdu.
The experienced playmaker, who joined Real Betis last summer, is currently a free agent after deciding to depart the Seville-based club following their relegation from La Liga.
A number of clubs have registered an interest, but according to Diario Franjiverde, Elche boss Fran Escriba is confident of completing a deal this summer.
Verdu made 30 appearances in all competitions for Betis last season.
