Real Betis survive Lleida scare

Real Betis have edged past Lleida 4-3 on aggregate in their Copa del Rey round-of-32 tie.

The La Liga outfit let go of a two-goal lead at home to draw the second leg 2-2, but their victory in the first leg away from home earlier this month proved enough for them to progress to the last 16.

Paulao put Betis ahead as early as the fifth minute and Antonio Amaya doubled their advantage five minutes later.

However, Lleida came back strongly thereafter and halved the deficit through Javier Monforte seven minutes before the half-time interval.

Jaime Arnaiz made it 2-2 10 minutes into the second half but the visitors failed to get a third goal as Betis went through to the last 16.
