Benfica's Jorge Jesus targets Europa League glory

Jesus targets EL glory

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has said that he is determined to win the Europa League this season.

The Portuguese giants will take on Chelsea in the final of the European competition at the Amsterdam ArenA on Wednesday.

"Winning the Europa League would be a very important moment in the club's history, and for the players and staff," he told UEFA.com.

"Getting to the final is a great achievement in itself but coming away victorious would be even greater. Benfica are always under pressure when they play and we know that in every competition we take part in, the aim is to get to the final and win.

"It's our pleasure to face Chelsea, to share a final with opponents that were once my players. They have David Luiz and Ramires, but I'm not forgetting about Paulo Ferreira and Hilario. That is an important thing to note, and we're happy to meet them in the final."

Chelsea will become the first European team ever to win the Champions League and the Europa League in successive seasons if they emerge victorious on Wednesday.
