Newcastle United have reportedly eyed up Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule as a possible transfer target.
Following their successful takeover of the club at the beginning of October, the Saudi Public Investment Fund are said to be keen to quickly bolster the Magpies' squad, leading to links with a whole host of potential incomings.
According to German outfit Bild, the St. James' Park outfit have identified German defender Sule as a prime target to improve the defensive ranks.
The 26-year-old is yet to sign a new deal with the German champions, and he sees his current contract expire in the summer, allowing him to discuss pre-contract terms with other clubs from the beginning of the new year.
Sule, who joined from Hoffenheim in 2017, has made 145 appearances for the Bavarian giants, winning four consecutive Bundesliga titles and adding a Champions League to his trophy cabinet, while earning 37 caps for the German national team.
The centre-back has featured in all eight Bundesliga games for Julian Nagelsmann's side so far this season, starting in seven of those matches as they quickly took control of top spot.
