Mandzukic: 'I want to leave Bayern'

Mario Mandzukic has revealed that he intends to leave Bayern Munich because he does not fit into the style imposed by manager Pep Guardiola.

The 28-year-old has been linked with summer moves to Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal following reports that he had fallen out with the ex-Barcelona boss.

"I met with [Bayern chairman] Karl Heinz Rummenigge before the [German] Cup final and told him I wanted to leave the club," Mandzukic told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.

"I've had a fantastic time at Bayern. It's a great club and I never thought I'd want to leave, and especially not at this point in time. But, let's be honest, I cannot play to my strengths under Guardiola's style - no matter how hard I try."

Mandzukic scored 26 goals in 48 games under Guardiola last season, which is a better return than his 22-goal tally during his first campaign at the Allianz Arena under Jupp Heynckes.
