Douglas Costa "proud" to join Bayern Munich

Douglas Costa says that he cannot wait to get started at Bayern Munich after joining the German champions from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Douglas Costa has revealed his delight after joining Bayern Munich on a five-year contract earlier on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has moved to the German champions from Shakhtar Donetsk for a figure in the region of £21m.

"I'm proud to become a player for Bayern, following in the footsteps of so many magnificent Brazilian players," Costa said at his official press conference.

"I'm looking forward to playing for this magnificent team and will do everything I can to fulfil the expectations placed in me."

Costa, who had been with Shakhtar since 2010, has recently returned from Copa America duty with Brazil.
