Pep Guardiola refuses to criticise Manuel Neuer for mistake

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola refuses to criticise Manuel Neuer after his error contributed to a 2-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has refused to place the blame on Manuel Neuer's shoulders following his side's 2-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Neuer spilled a shot from Raffael in the first half to send the ball over the line, and the champions never recovered as Gladbach condemned Bayern to their first home defeat of the season.

However, Guardiola elected to point the finger at his misfiring attack rather than concentrate on the error from the goalkeeper.

"We didn't lose due to Manu, but because we had problems in attack," the Spaniard told reporters. "It's the Bundesliga and people think it's always easy, but I know how difficult it is.

"We'll analyse the game and after the international break we'll get back to winning ways."

Despite the loss, Bayern remain 10 points clear of second-placed Wolfsburg with eight games left in the season.
