Mehdi Benatia has revealed that he couldn't turn down a move to Bayern Munich once their interest became apparent in the summer.
The Moroccan international joined the Bundesliga champions for around £20m from Serie A side Roma, and the 27-year-old claimed that he has joined one of "top three" sides in world football.
He told Corriere dello Sport: "During the last window, many clubs wanted me, but when Bayern Munich wanted me it felt clear that I would continue my career there.
"Roma are a great club and one of the clubs with the best prospects in Europe, but Bayern are among the top three teams in the world.
"I went to Munich to win many trophies. It was impossible to refuse an offer."
Bayern travel to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League this evening.
