Thiago "out for just a few weeks"

Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Thiago says that the knee injury that he suffered against England on Friday will only keep him out of action "for a few weeks".

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago has revealed that he will only be out of action "for a few weeks" after picking up a knee problem in Spain's 2-0 win over England on Friday.

It was initially feared that the 24-year-old had suffered a reoccurrence of the injury that has plagued him over the last couple of seasons.

However, via social networking side Twitter, Thiago has said that his latest problem will not keep him on the sidelines for too long.

"Fortunately I will be out just for a few weeks. Thanks for your support messages," Thiago tweeted.

Spain confirmed on Saturday that the midfielder suffered ligament damage to his right knee during the first half of La Roja's victory against the Three Lions.
