Report: Liverpool want Barcelona teenager Sergio Gomez

Liverpool are reportedly desperate to sign Barcelona's 15-year-old midfielder Sergio Gomez.

According to a report in Marca, a number of Premier League clubs are monitoring the teenager, but Liverpool currently lead the race for a player that does not turn 16 until September.

The same report claims that Barcelona want to tie the youngster to a professional contract, but are aware that the player's head could be turned by interest from the Premier League.

Another Barcelona youngster - Abel Ruiz - has also recently been linked with a move to England, with Arsenal and Chelsea both said to be interested in the 16-year-old.
