Spanish centre-back Marc Bartra is reportedly close to signing a new long-term deal with Barcelona.
The 22-year-old, who has featured heavily for the Catalan outfit this season, sees his current contract at the Camp Nou expire next summer.
Talks had reportedly stalled in recent weeks, but according to Mundo Deportivo, the highly-rated defender is close to signing a new five-and-a-half-year contract with the Spanish champions.
Despite the extension, Barcelona are still believed to be in the market for defensive reinforcements in January with question marks over the long-term future of Javier Mascherano and fitness of Carlos Puyol.
