La Liga president Javier Tebas reveals that he will attempt to block Neymar's proposed world-record move from Barcelona to PSG by submitting a complaint to UEFA.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has revealed that he will attempt to block Neymar's proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain by submitting a formal complaint to UEFA.

Barcelona today confirmed that Neymar has asked to leave the club amid speculation that PSG are willing to meet his €222m (£198.6m) release clause, although that figure must be paid in full.

However, Tebas claims that PSG's Qatari ownership amounts to "financial doping" and insists that the league will not accept the money from the Ligue 1 outfit.

"The complaint is ready and will be presented to UEFA, the European Union, and the Swiss Courts, those are the tribunals that have power. Basically, La Liga will denounce the unfairness of competing against state-backed clubs; the teams that receive economic investment from countries that gift players to their fans at the cost of taking them from other clubs," he told AS.

"In terms of PSG, it is a clear case of 'financial doping', with the club and the state. PSG's accounts show that they have a larger commercial income than Real Madrid and Manchester United, which is to say that the value of their brand is greater than those clubs. Well, that is impossible.

"If UEFA don't react [to the complaint], we will present the claim immediately. We haven't done it yet because we thought that UEFA were going to take measures to ensure that Financial Fair Play (FFP) is respected, and this 'financial doping' is avoided. We will not accept that money from a club like PSG that, without belonging to La Liga, want to embrace the rights of our organisation."

Neymar has scored 105 goals in 186 appearances for Barcelona.
