Report: Antoine Griezmann to accept pay cut to join Barcelona

Griezmann to accept Barcelona pay cut?

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is reportedly willing to take a pay cut in order to join Barcelona this summer.

The France international turned down the chance to join Manchester United last summer and is now rumoured to be at the top of Barca's wishlist.

Griezmann's salary is believed to be in the region of £193,000 per week, proving a stumbling block for many sides who would like to recruit the highly-rated player.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, however, Griezmann is willing to accept a pay cut so that the Blaugrana do not take a huge hit in terms of their wage bill.

The report goes on to claim that the 27-year-old will settle for a contract with large performance and goal bonuses, to make up for any savings in his salary.

Griezmann has made 38 appearances for Atleti this term, scoring 23 goals and registering 13 assists.
