Midfielder Frenkie de Jong says that he remains happy at Barcelona, claiming that he would be prepared to sign a new six-year contract.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong has claimed that he has no plans to try to instigate a transfer away from Barcelona.

Despite remaining as a first-team regular throughout the campaign, speculation emerged at the midway point that the Netherlands international could depart Camp Nou.

However, while there is alleged interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, De Jong has revealed that he would like to commit his long-term future to the Catalan giants.

Speaking to ZiggoSport, the 24-year-old said: "I love being at Barcelona. I'd probably sign a six-year contract extension if they'd propose me, yes.

"Something happening with FC Bayern? No, no. I am so happy at Barcelona and I would love to play here for as long as possible."

De Jong, who has made 128 appearances since his arrival in 2019, already has over four years remaining on his existing deal.
