Fleetwood Town sign former Barcelona youngster Godswill Ekpolo

League One side Fleetwood Town sign Nigerian defender Godswill Ekpolo, who turned out for Barcelona B last season.

League One side Fleetwood Town have signed former Barcelona youngster Godswill Ekpolo.

The Nigerian, who spent 11 years at Camp Nou, previously captained Barcelona's Under-21 team before turning out for their B side last season.

The 21-year-old had been on trial at Fleetwood over the last two weeks and his signing was completed before Monday night's FA Cup first-round tie at Southport, where he made his debut in a 0-0 draw.

Fleetwood, who are currently 10th in League One after 16 games of the 2016-17 campaign, are yet to disclose the length of the defender's contract.
