Barcelona 'weighing up summer move for Boubakary Soumare'

Barcelona could reportedly attempt to sign Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare this summer.

The 21-year-old was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League during the January transfer window but ultimately remained with his Ligue 1 side past the deadline.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all credited with an interest in Soumare, who has made 30 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign.

However, according to Sport, Barca have now identified the defensive midfielder as a possible signing as the Spanish champions look for alternatives to Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga.

Soumare has only played in one of Lille's last seven Ligue 1 matches having allegedly reacted badly to being denied a move to the Premier League at the start of 2020.

The France Under-21 international could be viewed as a replacement for Ivan Rakitic, who is allegedly on his way out of Camp Nou ahead of the 2020-21 season.
