Barcelona 'view Youri Tielemans as perfect midfield signing'

Barcelona have reportedly identified Leicester City's Youri Tielemans as the ideal midfield acquisition.

The 24-year-old has impressed for Leicester since arriving from Monaco in 2019, initially on loan, making 113 appearances for the club, scoring 18 times and contributing 19 assists.

Tielemans's current deal at the King Power Stadium is due to expire in June 2023, though, and a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid, are said to be monitoring his situation.

Barcelona have also been credited with an interest, and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants view the Belgium international as the ideal player to boost their midfield.

The report claims that Tielemans's physical and technical characteristics appeal to the La Liga outfit, who want to sign a new midfielder in one of the upcoming transfer windows despite their financial issues.

Tielemans has already scored once in four Premier League appearances for Brendan Rodgers's side at the start of the 2021-22 campaign but has been on the losing side on two occasions.
