Barcelona reportedly place attacker Memphis Depay on the transfer list, although the Dutchman wants to stay at the club for "several more years".

Barcelona have reportedly placed attacker Memphis Depay on their transfer list for the summer window.

After scoring 20 goals and setting up 12 more in 37 Ligue 1 games during his final season with Lyon, Barcelona swooped to sign the Netherlands international as a free agent for the 2021-22 season.

The 28-year-old made a bright start to life at Camp Nou with two goals in his opening three La Liga games, but he has since been overshadowed by the club's January arrivals.

Depay has struggled to return to the first XI on a consistent basis since recovering from hamstring and Achilles injuries and has fallen out of favour under Xavi after being signed by compatriot Ronald Koeman.

Depay has started Barca's last two La Liga matches against Real Betis and Mallorca but has only featured in the first XI three times in the Spanish top flight since the turn of the year.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and the rejuvenated Ousmane Dembele are normally preferred up top, while Ansu Fati's return from injury has also led to greater competition for attacking spots.

As a result, Sport claims that Barcelona will look to offload Depay in the summer transfer window, and the ex-Manchester United man would be open to a move elsewhere after only signing a deal with Barcelona until 2023.

The report adds that Depay is keen to be a team's focal point in attack as he searches for a strong run of form before the 2022 World Cup, but the report contradicts the attacker's comments after the recent win over Mallorca.

"I came here wanting to play for the team. I want to be important for the team next year and for several more years," Depay told reporters, but the club seemingly have no intention of extending the Dutchman's deal.

Depay has registered 12 goals and three assists in 35 games for Barcelona during his debut season, and he is not the only Blaugrana attacker expected to be on the move this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Adama Traore was one of the club's January arrivals on a loan deal, but he has only managed four assists in 16 matches for the Catalan giants so far this season.

The 26-year-old has also made a mere three La Liga starts this season, and Barcelona have reportedly decided against a permanent move for the Spaniard.

A move for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski has been strongly mooted, but the Bundesliga champions are expected to resist attempts to prise the Poland international away from Bavaria this summer.

As a result, Xavi's side are believed to have turned their attention to three separate attacking targets in Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata, with a recent report claiming that the Catalans' interest in the trio has been rekindled.

Barcelona confirmed their place in the 2022-23 Champions League by beating Real Betis at the weekend and will aim to tighten their grip on second place when Celta Vigo travel to Camp Nou on Tuesday evening.
