Barcelona 'keen on signing Alessandro Bastoni'

Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni emerges as a summer transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The 21-year-old has been a regular for Antonio Conte's side during the 2020-21 campaign, making 28 appearances in all competitions, including 20 in Italy's top flight.

Bastoni only has little more than two years left to run on his current deal at San Siro, though, and according to Calciomercato, Barca are keen on bringing the Italy international to Camp Nou.

The report claims that the Catalan giants want to freshen their defence during this summer's transfer window, but Inter are believed to value Bastoni in the region of £52m.

Barca are struggling with the financial implications of the coronavirus outbreak, though, meaning that it could be difficult for the club to find the required funds in the upcoming market.

In total, Bastoni has made 61 appearances for Inter since arriving from Atalanta BC in 2017.
