What is at stake for Elche and Barcelona?
Elche have already started their 2026-27 La Liga campaign, opening up with a 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruna in the first set of fixtures.
Barcelona, though, were not involved in gameweek one, having had their fixture postponed due to the number of players that the club had involved in the latter stages of the 2026 World Cup.
The Catalan outfit will play their gameweek one fixture against Athletic Bilbao on August 27, but their full attention will currently be on their clash with Elche.
