Barcelona head coach Xavi will miss his side's pre-season friendly against Inter Miami after being denied entry to the United States for a second time.

Barcelona head coach Xavi has reportedly been denied entry to the United States for a second time.

The 42-year-old was unable to fly out on Saturday with the rest of Barcelona's travelling party for the pre-season tour to the United States.

Xavi was denied entry due to his recent visits to Iran in his time as a player and manager with Qatari club Al Sadd.

Due to tense relations between the US and Iran, the Barcelona boss required extra documentation, which was not available in time for Saturday's flight.

The Catalan giants were hoping Xavi could travel to the US on Tuesday, but according to The Mirror, a prolonged delay to obtain the required documents has resulted in Xavi being denied entry once again.

As a result, the Barcelona manager will miss his team's pre-season friendly against Inter Miami on Tuesday, with his brother Oscar Hernandez set to take charge against Phil Neville's side.

Xavi will now be aiming to travel to the US in time for Barcelona's friendly against El Clasico rivals Real Madrid at the weekend.
