David Villa raring for return to Barcelona training

Barcelona forward David Villa has said that he is "desperate" to return to full training.

Villa has not played since an injury in December last year and is hoping he can be passed fit to train with his teammates sooner rather than later.

"This is the summer I have most desire for the holidays to end and to be able to go to work already," Mundo Deportive quotes Villa as saying. "It is also the summer I have enjoyed least.

"I have passed a check-up with the Barcelona doctors and I am desperate to return to normal training with my team-mates, not training separately."

Villa signed for Barcelona on a four-year deal in May 2010.
