Roberto Carlos hails Neymar form

Former Brazil defender Roberto Carlos has claimed that Barcelona attacker Neymar is currently "the most impressive" player in the world.

The 23-year-old has drawn widespread praise for his performances this season, with the attacker hitting 14 goals in 16 games for his Catalan club.

Carlos has said that Lionel Messi "will always be number one", but the former left-back has paid tribute to Neymar's recent form.

"At the moment they have fantastic players but Neymar is the most impressive in the world," Carlos told ESPN Brazil.

"Messi will always be number one, with Cristiano Ronaldo, but in the last three or four months Neymar has been absolutely fabulous. You have to applaud him because he's been spectacular."

Neymar will be back in action for Barcelona when Luis Enrique's side face Real Sociedad in the league at the weekend.
