Report: Carlos Puyol will not return until October

Barcelona defender Carlos Puyol will reportedly not return to first-team action with the club until October.

It had been believed that the Spaniard would return after the international break after resuming training towards the end of pre-season.

However, according to AS, the 35-year-old's comeback from knee surgery has been delayed due to slight complications following the procedure.

The Catalan outfit failed to sign a centre-back during the transfer window despite reports linking them with Chelsea's David Luiz and Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva.
