Report: Iniesta saves Albacete from administration

Andres Iniesta has reportedly saved his boyhood club Albacete from financial ruin by giving them a £200,000 loan.

The Barcelona midfielder, who is a shareholder of the Segunda Division B team, used his own money to pay for players' wages that were outstanding, according to The Mirror.

A deadline for the payment was scheduled for Thursday night, and the Spanish international paid off the debt that saved the Castile-La Mancha outfit from entering administration and suffering relegation to Spain's fourth tier.

In 2011, Iniesta deposited £300,000 into the club's accounts to save them from a similar threat of administration.
