Messi has already scored twice in the league this season, while he set up Neymar for both of the Brazilian's goals in Saturday's 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.
"Messi and Neymar are as good as ever. This season, they both have a lot of quality and when they connect it's amazing," Pique told reporters at a press conference.
"They are two of the best in the world and they play together."
Barcelona still have Luis Suarez to come into their forward line, with the striker due to return from a four-month suspension at the end of October.
