Lionel Messi to have scan on injury today

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi will reportedly undergo a scan on a thigh injury today.

The four-time Ballon d'Or winner was substituted at half time in their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Messi's removal was due to a thigh injury and he will have the tests later today to determine the full extent of the knock, according to Sky Sports News.

The second leg of the Spanish Super Cup between the sides will take place on August 28.
