Lionel Messi hails Xavi

Lionel Messi has branded Barcelona teammate Xavi "the best player in Spain's history".

Xavi will play his final game for Barcelona this weekend when the Catalan outfit face Juventus in the Champions League final.

During a 24-year career at Camp Nou, Xavi has won eight league titles, three Copa del Reys and three Champions Leagues.

"[Xavi Hernandez] is the best player in Spain's history. He plays wherever he wants and it was my pleasure to play alongside him on the pitch and in training," Messi told UEFA.com.

Xavi is joining Qatari side Al Sadd on a two-year deal this summer.
