Laudrup resigns as Mallorca boss

Former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder Michael Laudrup has resigned from his position as manager of Real Mallorca.

The Dane's departure has come in the wake of the club's decision to fire his assistant Erik Larsen earlier this week.

Larsen was sacked yesterday after criticising the club's owner Lorenzo Serra Ferrer in a Danish publication.

"Mallorca will be whatever Serra Ferrer wants it to be," Laudrup was quoted as saying at the press conference in which he announced his departure.

The 47-year-old took over the club in July 2010.
