Jordi Alba has insisted that Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez will ultimately prove well worth the £75m that was spent on him in the summer.
The Uruguayan has failed to scale the heights expected of him since sealing a big-money move from Liverpool in July, netting just five goals in all competitions.
Suarez's goalscoring woes continued in Sunday's 3-2 win over Villarreal, but Alba insists that the 28-year-old still represents good business by the Catalans.
"Perhaps Suarez is having a tough time finishing, but he was a very good signing and he gives us what we lacked," the defender told the official Barcelona website.
"We have several great attackers now and that makes a difference.
"As the coach has said, our bench is very deep with excellent players and there are lots of options."
Suarez scored 31 Premier League goals for the Reds last season.
