Luis Enrique still looking for improvement

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique admits that his team still need to improve following their 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has admitted that his team are still struggling to reach their full potential in the early part of the season.

Saturday's 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano moved the Catalan outfit level on points with first-place Real Madrid in La Liga, despite Enrique's outfit already losing twice in the league this term.

The Spaniard has praised Rayo for their approach during the clash at Camp Nou, but has claimed that the hosts should have won by a more comfortable margin.

"Luckily there aren't many Rayos in the league, with their approach. Possession is a means, not an end product. I didn't mind giving up possession against Rayo, neither did I against Celta [Vigo] and Bayern [Munich] because I always seek the result," Enrique told reporters.

"I've never had a comfortable match against Paco Jemez's Rayo. We created chances to get ahead but didn't take them. We had a good first half and a bad second half, even if we were only clinical in the second.

"I'm not worried that we're not taking all our chances as it's only a matter of time before we do. It's been a strange season for us, having missed so many clear chances with such quality players. [My team] play with so much clarity that I don't need to work on them."

Barcelona, who are still without the injured Lionel Messi, return to Champions League action with a group match against BATE Borisov on Tuesday.
