Daniel Alves "not surprised" by Neymar's start

Barcelona defender Daniel Alves has revealed that he is "not surprised" that Neymar has impressed during the early stages of his career with the Catalan outfit.

The 21-year-old, who joined Barcelona from Santos in the summer, has made a positive start to life in Spain and scored his first league goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

"I knew of Neymar's abilities and I knew that he'd fit in at Barca. I'm not surprised by his good start," Alves told the club's official website.

The Brazilian has been asked to operate in a wide left position thus far.
