Barcelona's Martin Montoya suffers fractured cheekbone

Barcelona reveal that Martin Montoya suffered a fractured cheekbone in Saturday's 2-0 win at Eibar.

Barcelona have revealed that Martin Montoya suffered a fractured cheekbone in Saturday's 2-0 win at Eibar.

The Spaniard picked up the injury in a collision with Borja Fernandez and was sent for scans immediately after the match.

Barca revealed the extent of the damage in an official statement, but it is understood that Montoya will return to training with a protective mask over the next couple of days.

Montoya, who was widely linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in the January transfer window, started at right-back against Eibar due to Dani Alves's suspension.
