Barca injury news vs. Valladolid: Seven players set to miss out for Flick's team

Barcelona will be aiming to make it four successive wins at the start of their 2024-25 La Liga campaign when they welcome Real Valladolid in their final match ahead of the September international break.

Hansi Flick's side came from behind to record a 2-1 victory over Valencia in their season opener, before beating Athletic Bilbao 2-1 in their second game of the campaign.

Barcelona were also 2-1 winners in their third game of the season on Tuesday night, coming from behind to beat Rayo Vallecano, with Dani Olmo hitting the winner on his debut for the club.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's contest with Real Valladolid, who were beaten 3-0 by Real Madrid in their last away match.


Ansu Fati

Status: Out Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona remain without Fati, who picked up a foot injury at the end of July; the forward has been linked with a late summer exit, but head coach Flick has said that he wants to keep hold of him.


Ronald Araujo

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Araujo will be on the sidelines until the latter stages of this year due to the hamstring operation that he underwent in the middle of July.


Frenkie de Jong

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

De Jong has been absent since the start of March due to an ankle problem, and it is unclear when the Netherlands international will be able to make his Barcelona return.


Gavi

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi continues to recover from the serious knee injury that he suffered while representing Spain towards the end of last year, but he is expected to be back on the field before the end of 2024.


Andreas Christensen

Marc Bernal

Barcelona's 17-year-old midfielder Bernal suffered an ACL injury in the latter stages of Tuesday's clash against Rayo Vallecano, and he is now expected to miss the remainder of the season.
