How Barcelona could line up against Linares Deportivo

How Barcelona could line up against Linares Deportivo

Barcelona are again set to be without a number of first-team players for Wednesday's Copa del Rey contest with third-tier outfit Linares Deportivo.

The Catalan giants managed to record a 1-0 victory over Mallorca in La Liga on Sunday despite being without the services of a number of players through a mixture of injury and coronavirus.

Memphis Depay, Sergi Roberto, Pedri, Ansu Fati and Martin Braithwaite are still absent through injury, but Sergio Busquets is back, having served a suspension against Mallorca last time out.

Philippe Coutinho, Abde Ezzalzouli, Gavi, Alejandro Balde and Sergino Dest all recently returned positive coronavirus tests and are again expected to be unavailable here.

Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet also both recently tested positive for the virus; the defensive pair were on the bench at the weekend but are absent here through illness, while Neto is in line to replace Marc-Andre ter Stegen between the sticks.

Luuk de Jong scored the winner against Mallorca but is suspended for this game, with Ilias Akhomach and Ferran Jutgla potentially joining the returning Ousmane Dembele in a front three.

Head coach Xavi is also expected to include a number of Barcelona B players in the squad, with Alvaro Sanz and Estanis potentially being involved, while Dani Alves could make his second debut for the club.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Neto; Alves, Mingueza, Garcia, Araujo; Nico, F de Jong, Puig; Akhomach, Jutgla, Dembele
