Xavi expects Barcelona to win Copa del Rey

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi 'expects' the Catalan giants to overcome Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final this weekend.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi 'expects' the Catalan giants to win the Copa del Rey final this weekend.

Sevilla will enter the showpiece event off the back of a 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, but Xavi has insisted that his former team "are the favourites" for the trophy.

"Barcelona are the favourites," Xavi told the website of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. "Sevilla played a fantastic second half against Liverpool at the end of the Europa League and were the better team.

"They have the experience of playing major finals and what they have achieved is impressive. But Barcelona is the best team in the world and hopefully they get the double [after winning La Liga last week]."

Al Sadd captain Xavi won four Copa del Rey trophies during his time at Camp Nou.
